PAINLESS PRECISE & PLAYFUL

BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU FOR THE HOBBYIST IN MILWAUKEE, WI

Longevity First

PAINLESS

TRAIN FOR DECADES NOT SEASONS

Painless does not mean easy. It means we teach you how to use leverage, timing, and structure instead of force.  Sustainable training is the only training that lasts. You will still push hard. You will just still be doing it twenty years from now. We all have jobs to go to the next day and need to be fuctional.

OUR FOUNDATION

THE THREE P'S

Every decision at White Lotus flows from three principles: how we teach, how we roll, how we build community. They aren't rules. They're a way of being on the mats.

Principles Based

PRECISE

BIOMECHANICS OVER BRUTE FORCE

We teach concepts and principles, not just moves. Understanding why a technique works, including what it asks of your body and what forces it uses, lets you adapt it to any partner, any position, any body type. Precision is what makes jiu jitsu work for everyone in the room, not just the strongest person in it.

Ego Free Culture

PLAYFUL

CURIOUSITY OVER COMBAT

Ego kills curiosity. We have built a room where rolling is exploration, not a fight you have to win. When you are not afraid to tap, and not afraid to be tapped, you learn faster, connect with your partners more honestly, and actually enjoy the process. Jiu jitsu should feel like play. That is not a metaphor.

COMMON MISSCONCEPTIONS

THING YOU DON'T NEED BEFORE TRYING JIU JITSU

1

Don't Need To

Be In Shape

You do not have to “get fit first” before trying jiu jitsu. Class will help you build strength, endurance, coordination, and confidence over time.

2

Don't Need To

Be Flexible

You do not need to move like a gymnast to belong here. We teach you how to use the body you already have and gradually improve your mobility through practice.

3

Don't Need To

Be Experienced

Most people start from zero. We will walk you through where to stand, what to wear, how to move, and what to expect.

4

Don't Need To

Be Tough

White Lotus is not about proving how much discomfort you can survive. Curiosity, consistency, and a willingness to learn will take you much further than pretending nothing hurts.

5

Don't Need To

Be Competitive

You can train jiu jitsu for fun, movement, confidence, community, and personal growth. You do not need to chase medals to take your training seriously.

6

Don't Need To

Be Young

Jiu jitsu is not reserved for teenagers, college athletes, or people who feel invincible. Whether you are starting at 30, 40, 50, or beyond, we help you train in a way that respects your body, builds skill gradually, and keeps you moving for the long run.

WHAT WE DO THATS DIFFERENT

WHY TRAIN JIU JITSU
AT WHITE LOTUS?

Built for Longevity

Train hard without wrecking your body. Our approach helps you progress safely, protect your partners, and stay on the mats for years.

We Teach Concepts, Not Just Moves

Our curriculum is built around principles you can adapt, not techniques you have to memorize.  You learn jiu jitsu that works for your body, not somebody else's.

Community Over Ego

You are not walking into a fight club. You are joining a room where people help each other improve, challenge each other respectfully, and build real connection on the mats.

A Culture That Lets You Play

White Lotus is serious about skill without taking the fun out of training. We create space for curiosity, creativity, and exploration so students can actually enjoy the learning process.

MEET THE INSTRUCTORS BEHIND OUR CLASSES

Coach Meghan

Meghan

BJJ Black Belt, Avid Reader & Chandler

Meghan is the owner of White Lotus Jiu Jitsu, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt under Jay Pages, and a 3rd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. She also holds a Master’s in Education, which shows up in the way she teaches: thoughtful, creative, structured, and a little weird in the best possible way.

Her approach to jiujitsu is anything but traditional. Meghan believes movement should be explored, not just memorized. She loves the weird, unscripted positions where real learning happens.

For Meghan, a successful roll is not always about winning. Sometimes the best round is the one that leads somewhere unexpected, where curiosity takes over and a new possibility appears.

Jiujitsu Specialties: inverting, creative movement, utilizing your feet as hands

BJJ Black Belt, Sauna & Cold Plunge Enthusiast, AI Steward

Joshua is a first degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with over 20 years of experience on the mats. He has been coaching since 2012, has multiple instructional videos on BJJ Fanatics, and has taught all over the world through BJJ Globetrotters.

Through his career in executive coaching with Janis Consulting, Joshua has developed a unique ability to take complex ideas and turn them into practical lessons people can actually apply. He brings that same skill to the mats by helping students understand the principles behind the movement, not just the steps of a technique.

For Joshua, great jiujitsu is not about forcing answers. It is about understanding the problem, feeling the timing, and finding the most efficient path forward.

TRAIN, RECOVER, CONNECT

THE FACILITIES

White Lotus Jiu Jitsu was built to feel welcoming, functional, and comfortable, whether you are here to train hard, learn something new, or just spend time with the community.

Our facility includes over 1,200 square feet of mat space, giving students room to drill, roll, and move safely. We also have a dedicated workout equipment area for strength and conditioning, plus a sauna to help with recovery after training.

For families, we offer a kids room so parents can feel more comfortable making jiu jitsu part of their routine. And because White Lotus is more than just a place to take class, we also have a lounge area where students can hang out, connect, and be part of the community before and after training.
